On the way back up!

I was hoping yesterday was the bottom. I really really was. Her platelets were up to 34 this morning, so no transfusion today! Thanks for the prayers, they're working! Unfortunately for you all- you will be very busy for the next few months as I will blame any downward turns on lack of committment on your part.( You do realize I am joking- I do that when I start to get verklempt). I think her angels have been working overtime too, I know she's got an Army looking down on her on a daily basis. Last week I was tucking her in and she was doing her dramatic show when she gets tired- I love daddy, I love grandma, I love grandpa. Which grandpa sweetie? You KNOW! and the twinkle in her eye said it all. Grandpa comes and plays with me in my room. That would be my dad. I'm glad honey, he's a lot of fun isn't he? Yeah. They've always said children are much more receptive to angels.

Well we've gotten down the first big hill of the 'Cancer Coaster' as my aunt calls it. Unfortunately each time it's a different ride so we don't know if we should expect a series of small hills, another big hill or God Forbid a loop. Gotta breathe while we can- no sense worrying about the next hill. We'll deal with it when we get there.

  2. I am happy and sad all at the same time. I knew your Dad had made a pact with Bob before Bob died. Dad made him promise that if there was a way to communicate from the other side that Bob would.
Then after Bob died and Dad was diagnosed, Uncle Joe got very sick. Aunt Joan took a long time before telling us of Uncle Joe's experience. She knew your dad professed to be an agnostic. She was very much a believer. But she decided to tell Dad about what had happened. She told Dad about Bob visiting Uncle Joe in the hospital. Bob told him everything would be okay. We lost Aunt Joan to cancer but Uncle Joe is still going strong.
Now Lily has had visits from what we call angels. That first night home after her surgery on her leg she woke up in the middle of the night. She said she had a dream and she was lost. The next day when I took her for a walk in the stroller she told me about that dream. She said there were two girls that helped her. I asked if she knew them and she said no but they were sisters. I'm sure Aunt Joan and Aunt Ann were there to help her.
Now you talk of grandpa coming to play with her in her room. I have chills and tears and hopes. I believe in angels and I believe they are watching out for our Lily.
Thank God for these angels. I love you guys and even though I am not with you I know your angels are.
    Love,
    Mom (Grandma)
